Heats be HOT on Day 2 for @TEAMTSCSWIM
Day 2 Heats got off to a superb start in Limerick as the Templeogue athletes continued to post strong PB’s and position some great swims for this evenings finals at the Swim Ireland IRISH Age Group Division 2 Championships.
Conor Kenny (12) continued his superb form with a superb 13 second PB and a great swim to finish in the BRONZE medal position in the 400IM. Kate Sweeney (11) opened her individual morning with a strong PB in the 100BC, after her great performance in the 800FC last night.
In the BC event Arianne Courtney (14) smashed a big hole in her PB as she took almost 5 seconds off her previous best to qualify for the finals tonight as the second fastest qualifier. BEST of luck for later Arianne.!! Team mate Laura Gleeson (14) also took over 1.5 seconds off her PB in the 100BC also, showing just how much she continues to improve this season. Anna O’Gara (16) was delighted too as she took exactly 5 seconds off her best time to also qualify for the finals in the 100BC in the 15+ age group. Best of Luck for later ANNA!!
In the boys 100BC Sam Flanagan (12) posted a great PB to finish as reserve but with a 4 second PB, he’s well pleased.
Back in the pool in her second event of the morning Kate Sweeney (11) finished as 2nd reserve in the 200FC just marginally outside her previous best, but with more learned!.
Arianne Courtney (14) and Laura Gleeson (14) continued to improve PB’s as they too both took time off preevious bests to finish in 11th & 13th respectively, while Anna O’Gara’s (16) 6 second PB also earned her an 11th place in the senior age group.
The morning finished strongly for the TEAM as Sam Flanagan (12) posted a 6 second PB drop to qualify for the 200FC final in his age group while Daniel Walsh (12) took over a second off, and Conor Kenny (12) 4 seconds off his previous best to finish with Walsh as 1st Reserve (missing the final by 0.15) and Kenny in 13th place overall.
