Great OVERALL TEAM Performance sees 122 NEW PB’s & 6 TITLES delivered
A second day of racing was another succesful day for the TEAM of athletes as they collectively smashed some 122 NEW LC PB’s from all the delivered swims.
The Athletes continued to produce great learning on Day 2 of racing as they implemented good race tactics and technique to continue to build their racing awareness and experience.
Ellen Walshe (13) picked up a further Leinster Title today in the 200IM, taking her total to 4 for the weekend (200FC, 400IM, 100BF & 200BF) while Niamh Murphy (21) also delivered a great swim to notch up a further title for her in the 100FC. Podium finishes for Evan Rossiter (14) (200BC) and the Girls Relays (Leah Martin, Niamh Murphy, Ellen Walshe & Alie Martin) capped off a great weekend of racing for the team.
Tom Giblin (16) had qualified in total for 7 Regional Finals, while Ellen Walshe was also in 7 events picking up 6 podium results. Alie Martin (14) had picked up 3 Finals, Evan Rossiter 3 and 2 top 8 finishes, while Greg Sinnott (15) & Cathal Tan (16) also put fin swims on the board today to round out the Finals from Ruth O’Gara (18) yesterday.
A special swim by Ronan Tan (12) saw him place 7th in his first 800FC, while Eoin Feghan’s (16) 4th place in the 1500FC yesterday all added to the TEAM Tally.
In total there were 122 NEW Long Course PB’s set by the squad of athletes. The team move on now to prepare to travel to the Ulster Age Group championships, some 21 of the TEAM from this weekend while a further 38 athletes in the club will head to the Tallaght Gala to continue to race and gain competition experience as they progress their skills.
