Final Day Finals for TEAM TSC finishes the week on a HIGH!!

The Final day of racing at the Irish Age Group & Summer Open Championships was another great day for the Templeogue TEAM with some superb results and multiple podiums and finals for the Athletes.

The day started with Niamh Murphy (20) posting a strong heat swim in the 50BF as she now focuses on the Portugeese Nationals from Wednesday of this week.  We wish you the very best in that event!!

The next event on the program was the Girls 400FC with some excellent swims as Ellen Walshe posted a big new PB to take the Silver medal in the 12Yrs Age Group while Caroline Ryan (14) & Jessica Burke (14) also posted big LC PB’s as Burke produced an impressive swim to finish in the Bronze Medal position overall in her age group. In the older girls age groups Nicole Walshe (15) & Ruth O’Gara (17) also posted strong swims with O’Gara posting a new PB, while Walshe’s swim was the 2nd fastest she’s ever been.

In the boys 100FC event Finn O’Keeffe (13) produced a superb and well earned heat swim to qualify for his First National Final where he further improved tonight on his PB from the morning to finish in 9th place.  In the same event, Evan Rossiter (13) equalled his recently set PB with another strong performance in the FC event, while Tom Giblin (15) & Stephen Herlihy (15) delivered equal to PB efforts as they too finished the weekend of racing with strong swims.

In the womens 100BC Caoilfhinn Tan (14) produced a strong PB effort in her heat as Jessica Burke (14) did likewise on her 10th individual event of the weekend, showing an impressive range of skills and some mental toughness as she delivered PB’s in almost all of her events.

ER StartAs the boys focused on the longer 200BC, Evan Rossiter (13) produced his best result of the weekend as he qualified for the final in his age group in strong position and finished this evening’s final swim in the 9th place. In the older boys Tom Giblin (15) also produced another strong PB for the weekend as he finishes the year in a great place.

In the final individual event of the weekend Ellen Walshe (12) smashed a HUGE PB in the 200IM as she posted a great final swim to finish in Gold Medal in her Age Group.  Jessica Burke (14) also finished her 11th individual swim in a strong PB in the heats, only to better improve on the heat swim to finish in the Silver medal spot in her age group, capping a great weekend of racing and a double medal haul for the day.  In the same event Caoilfhinn Tan (14) posted another improved swim as Alie Martin (13), having qualified from the Division 2’s posted a very good new LC PB to finish her year with an impressive overall improvement.

For the weekend as a whole the TEAM had produced some really good racing and the TEAM’s athletes posted big PB’s and a consistent performance int he Finals and podiums.

The TEAM finished the weekend with a well earned TEAM PIZZA and will be back in the water next week to top up training tanks in advance of taking a break for the bulk of the month of August.
