Great Experience for TEAM TSC athletes at Irish Long Course Championships

A small team of athletes from Templeogue Swim Club headed to the National Aquatic Centre this weekend to race at the Irish Long Course Championships.
The team members were a mix of youth and experience as Niamh Murphy led three young members of Jessica Burke, Ellen Walshe and Caoilfhinn Tan in to the event.
Murphy was focused on her favourite sprint events as she raced to the finals on Day 1 in the 50BS, and strong swims to make finals in the 100FC, finishing in 7th place in the final.
Jessica Burke delivered 6 strong swims over her 3 days of racing culminating in a ‘B’ Final Swim in the 400IM event where she delivered a much improved 3 second time in the Final v’s her Heat.
Her other swims in the 200FC, 400FC, 100BC & 200BC showed the range of events she’s working on on going.
Caoilfhinn Tan had delivered a great swim to qualify for the event and although ill gained some great racing experience on the day at the event.
The youngest athlete from the team at the event was Ellen Walshe who also swam a range of events from 400IM to the 200BF in the earlier days of the meet gaining invaluable experience enroute to capitalise on when delivering a superb PB Swim in the heats of the 100BF to qualify for her first Senior Semi Final delivering another big step forward PB in the semi-finals finishing in 15th place overall.

Final day of racing tomorrow sees Murphy return to the block to race her favourite sprint event the 50FC.
