Joe Kenny (11), Greg Sinnott (13) & Evan Rossiter (12) set about the days events with some smashing PB’s in the 400FC, whilst Traolach McKnight (15) put a solid swim together for his 1st event of the meet also whilst the boys cheered on in force as Stephen Herlihy (14), Matthew Parnell (14) and Eoin Feighan (14) also smashed up their PB’s with Herlihy and Feighan qualifying for D1’s in the process and Imagefinishing in the top 2 spots off their age group.  Herlihy picked up a speeding ticket as he was a well earned and raced % inside the D1 QT, ensuring that Feighan picked up the Gold in the 13/14yr age group with another fine swim in one of his now favoured events.

ImageMuirin Goulding (14) demolished her PB in the 100BC qualifying for the final this evening in a Division 1 time and then winning the overall event in another faster PB.  She get’s a ‘Speeding Ticket’ for her efforts as she was more than 2% inside the D1QT.  The smile on her face with her massive PB more than makes up for the medal.  She was accompanied in the BC finals this evening by Evan Rossiter (12) and Stephen Herlihy (14) who both qualified for the final in new PB’s and then delivered better PB swims this evening to further improve their position and finishing in 5th place overall in their respective age groups.  Eoin Feighan (14) also delivered another good PB in his 2nd of 3 swims for the day in the 100BC.

ImageFeighan’s final individual event was the 200IM where he also saw his colleagues Sinnott and Parnell join him in the BIG PB swims in another event, while Goulding, Kenny & Herlihy also added more PB@s to the days tally and all qualifying for finals too in their respective age groups.  In the finals tonight Kenny took another big 3 seconds off his earlier PB to finish in 5th Imagewhile Herlihy demolished his earlier swim to finish a clear 5 seconds faster and taking the Gold medal in the event. Goulding continued her fine performances with not only a PB, final place but also her 2nd Division 1 time of the day.  In the Final tonight she too improved her time to get another ‘speeding ticket’ but finished in 2nd overall in the event.

The final event of the morning was the 4 x 50MTR with Stephen Herlihy (BC), Traloach McKnight (BS), Matthew Parnell (BF) and Eoin Feighan (FC) combining to deliver a 5th place finish for the TEAM.   ImageCoach for the Event Peter Sherry said this afternoon that the results  proved ‘how well earned these swims are for the athletes as they have worked hard all year and consistently improved training and technical elements throughout the season.’

Sherry was looking forward with the TEAM to tomorrow’s competition after a great night of finals.
