IAG D2 – Day 1 – GREAT Start for TEAM TSC

After a super day 1 in Limerick, the TEAM TSC Team retire for the day as a very happy crew.  With some excellent swims and big PB’s, the team finish the day with 4 podium finishes on day 1 and multiple top finishes.  The first event saw Jessica Burke (U12) deliver a huge PB int he 800FC to ffinish in 5th place with a superb swim of 11:17.  In the boys 400FC,  Stephen Herlihy (U12) finished in 11th with a strong PB of 5:35 whilst Cathal Tan (13yrs) delivered an excellent result to finish in 3rd in a new PB of 5:17.55 .  In the Girls 100BC event ALL girls delivered strong PB’s with Muirin Goulding and Aisling Field, delivering strong PB’s, whilst Caoilfhinn Tan finished as a reserve for the Final, having delivered an excellent PB of 1:21,  Jessica Burke qualified for the U12 final delivering a 4 second PB and finishing in 7th in the actual final.

In the Boys BC, Stephen Herlihy continued his good run of form to deliver a great PB, whilst Cathal Tan and Arun Ramkaun also delivered PB’s to qualify for the finals in their respective Ages.  Cathal finished in 4th in his 13Yrs Final, while Arun took home the Gold medal in the 15Yrs event.

In the final event of the day, the girls continued with their PB’s in the 200IM with Muirin Goulding, Aisling Field and Caoilfhinn Tan taking between 3 and 8 seconds of their best times, whilst Jessica Burke made her 2nd final of the day and finished in the Bronze medal in her event in a further PB.  The boys also delivered some great PB’s with Stephen Herlihy taking 10 seconds of his previous best, Cathal Tan and Arun Ramkaun qualifying for their 2nd finals of the day also.  Cathal finished in 5th place individually with another PB for the day whilst Arun collected his second Gold medal with a win in the 15yrs event.

The girls finished the day with a 4th place effort and only 0.1 outside the medals in the U12 Relay.  Looking forward to Day 2, tomorrow, the team get a well earned rest.
